How Does the Prana Heat Recovery Ventilation System Work?
The energy-efficient PRANA ventilator ensures synchronized movement of supply and exhaust air flows in a copper heat exchanger. The air passes through separate channels in the heat exchanger without mixing. This way we get clean, warm air without energy loss.Also, the recuperator flange on the front cover has a different thickness at the top and bottom. Installation of the system at an angle allows you to take this into account. If there is an inclination of 2-3°, the flange of the recuperator tightly adheres to the inner wall. You get an effective and aesthetic ventilation system.
Can I install heat recovery ventilation instead of home heating system?
No. This product does not replace home heating. The primary objective of ventilation is to enable efficient air exchange within a home, while the heating system’s primary function is to elevate the air temperature. A recuperator is helpful in maintaining a comfortable temperature inside the home, but it is not a substitute for an adequate heating system.
How much energy does the PRANA heat recovery ventilation system consume?
The PRANA energy efficient recuperator requires a standard 200 V 50 Hz mains supply for operation. Its energy consumption varies from 4 to 91 Watts per hour, depending on the selected speed and operating mode.
Does installing ventilation help reduce humidity levels?
Yes. Here's how it works: moist, warm air is removed from the room and passes through a copper heat exchanger, which transfers heat to fresh air coming in from outside. The temperature of the incoming air increases and its humidity decreases. This means your home is protected from excessive humidity, mould and mildew, which is especially important for homes in Ireland and the UK.

How does heat recovery ventilation help save energy?
If you ventilate a room by simply opening the windows, you lose at least 30% of the heat during the heating season. The same thing happens in the summer: by opening the windows, you reduce the efficiency of the air conditioning, because the air conditioner is running idle.

Can the MVHR function while switched off?
Certainly. If the recuperator lid is opened while the engines are switched off, there may be an unregulated flow of air that can be affected by various factors such as the presence of other ventilation systems, seasonal changes, wind velocity, and other relevant conditions.

Can the MVHR Unit Freeze During Winter?
To ensure comfortable and safe operation of the recuperator during winter, it is advisable to activate the “Winter Mode” and “Mini-Heating” features. When operated correctly, the PRANA ventilation system can function efficiently within a temperature range of -30°C to +50°C.
